Welcome to Marais Iødé

Oyster farming, a passion.

Our operation

Located in the middle of the marshes, on the famous "oyster route", at La Baudissière, on the east coast of Oléron, the farm is a family business. Young oyster farmers, Kristel and Benoît, took over the farm in 2021. They pool their know-how to offer quality oysters. In addition to oysters, they produce imperial prawns (prawns) extensively so that they grow naturally, they feed themselves.

Our products

From the Fine de claire to the Pousse en claire, passing by the Special, the oysters of the Marais Iødé are raised with care. They are born, grow and are refined exclusively in the Marennes Oléron basin. Prawns, labeled "imperial prawns from the Charentais marshes" are raised in our clears in association with oysters. We thus obtain a quality oyster thanks to the shrimps which scrape the bottom of the clear in search of their food. Oysters provide shrimp with high quality water thanks to their filtration power.

Our point of sale

At the beginning of June 2022, the Marais Iødé hut was added to the designer huts of La Baudissière. It is located a few meters from the farm, route des huîtres. It is open 7/7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. You will find oysters just out of the water, live prawns, mussels, clams, whelks... not to mention white wine and lemons!

Our oysters delivered directly to you

The Marais Iødé sends its oysters all year round directly to the homes of its customers in France and Belgium by means of chronopost /chronofresh in 24/48 hours.

How it works ?

The oysters, straight out of the water, are carefully placed one by one in a basket. These are positioned flat, glued together. In this way, they will keep for 7 to 8 days.

The same day, the carrier picks up your hamper. The ideal temperature for the conservation of oysters being 5 to 15°C, they will travel under controlled temperature via chronopost.

You then receive your oysters at home within 24/48 hours.

All you have to do is open them and enjoy them!

La Fin de Claire

It is the most common oyster in the Marennes Oléron basin. It is a not very fleshy oyster, matured in our beds for a month. It has this little taste of "terroir" that it acquires during refining in clear.

The end of clear green

Not very fleshy oyster, refined in clear for one month. We obtain this beautiful green color thanks to the blue navicule which develops in our clear. The oyster will then filter the latter and take on its color. Emblematic oysters from the Marennes Oléron basin.

Not being able to put the development of the blue naviculum in our clear, the fine green clear is not available all year round.

Claire's Special

Fleshy and crunchy oysters, with an intense taste, slightly less salty. In order to obtain this quality, we select oysters with a regular and round shape. They are then refined for 2 months in our claires.

La Pousse en Claire

The latter is the very top of the range oysters. We select round oysters with a regular shape. We lay them out one by one flat. To obtain this magnificent product, we put only one oyster per m². We breed our prawns in the clear with the Pousse en claire. The prawns by scratching the ground put the sediments in suspension which brings a lot of food to the oysters.

Imperial prawns from the Charentais marshes

Recognizable by its tiger adornment and its bluish tail, the imperial prawn of the Charente marshes is raised in our clears in association with oysters. These allow the shrimp to have high quality water. We have chosen to breed them naturally. (without food supply)

To achieve this, we put one shrimp per m².

We sell our shrimp alive so that you get incomparable freshness and firmness.
